This page curently says that "The compass is vital to finish the main one"...is it actually talking about the Hourglass, which swaps health with a monster? (The compass is the item that neutralizes a trap tile). Berzee (talk) 18:57, April 13, 2015 (UTC)

Yes! English is not my 1st language, so I made a mistake. Sorry about that. I meant Hourglass.

Completely different ending[]

Somehow the vortex didn't lead me to the Iron Throne, but to a "Nightmare Monster" (not 100% sure about the name). The description said "created from the adventurer's fears and doubts".

Ranged attack, no other visible skills. After attacking, it split into 4 smaller ones with 1/4 hp each. The HPs were shared, whenever I struck 1 of them, all of them took 1/4 dmg.

After killing it, the screen changed to the credits, saying

"This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but with a whimper." Credits followed.

I played on Normal with Guy

Gods: Benevolence -> War -> Contract (first rune each)

I had the event items

  • Metal Alchemy (unused)
  • Dwarf Ring (not shown to anybody due to better rewards without)
  • Guard's Chains
  • Wolf Paw Mark

Also, I had the Head in a Jar and the Sneaky Goblin tell me about the dungeon as well the scarf-queen tell me my fate is not here although I will go on.

EDIT: Had the same ending again, twice in a row. This time on Nightmare with Guy, Gods Benevolence -> War. The only event shared among the two runs is the Lady's Ghost in the Scarf.

EDIT: And again. This time with Swafa on Normal, Benevolence > Contract. Again, I talked to the scarf lady.

This ending really sucks for Swafa, as the Nightmare has high resistance.
